Anthropometric Measurements for Determination of Occlusal Vertical Dimension in Relation to Eye
نویسندگان
چکیده
Objective: To determine the mean vertical dimension of occlusion among dentate population by using different anthropometric measurements in relation to eye. Study Design and Setting: It was a cross sectional study conducted at outpatient department prosthodontics, Liaquat University Medical Health Sciences, Jamshoro from March –Sep-2019. Methodology: Five eye characteristics were measured. The distance between outer canthus one inner opposite is measured millimeters, rima oris distance, interpupillary mid pupil tragus distance. Data analyzed SPSS Version 20. Mean SD for age distinction right left pupil, tragus. outcome assessed gender stratification. groups compared t -test. Results: Total n=100 patients with complete dentitition included data collection. 22.75±1.86 years. (OVD) 67.73±1.02 mm. inter 63.13±2.95mm, 61.21±1.67mm, 67.46±1.53mm ear 70.04±1.68mm Conclusion: OVD index identifies precise dimensions as being present populations. This could be used clinical setting before other methods estimate provide general sense patient's dimension.

متن کاملDetermination of Vertical Dimension of Occlusion from Anthropometric Measurements of Fingers- An in vivo Study
The purpose of this study was to find the correlation between vertical dimension of occlusion (VDO) and length of fingers. Anthropometric measurements of VDO, length of middle finger, length of little finger, and distance from tip of thumb to tip of middle finger of right hand were recorded clinically using modified digital vernier caliper. Correlation between VDO and length of fingers was stud...

متن کاملVariables affecting measurements of vertical occlusal force.
Previous studies of occlusal force have provided conflicting results. The purpose of these studies was to determine whether the extent of vertical opening, contralateral occlusal support, or head posture influenced vertical occlusal forces during swallowing, simulated chewing, and maximum biting effort. Three samples of subjects with normal vertical facial proportions--one each of children, ado...
متن کاملCephalometric Approach to the Occlusal Vertical Dimension Reestablishment
The occlusal vertical dimension (OVD) refers to the length of the face as determined by the amount of separation of the jaws. Its determination is important for the manufacture of restorations. However, defining the correct occlusal vertical dimension for edentulous patients is one of the most important steps for function and esthetics rehabilitation. Cephalometry is a standardized method of as...
